Revival in Florida
We are in Florida tonight and so are a whole lot more people. Thousands are here to see Mickey and friends at Disney World. Thousands more came to see a Canadian revivalist named Todd Bentley. He has set up a tent not far from Orlando and in the three months he has been preaching here, the crowd is growing steadily. There’s not even standing room–the attendees are gathered outside and in two adjoining overflow areas.
According to a report by the Associated Press, the whole thing is causing disruption amongst even the faithful. Here is a blip from an article by writer Travis Reed:
His tactics, sometimes violent, have made skeptics even of Pentecostals who believe in concepts that aren’t accepted by all branches of Christianity such as speaking in tongues, miraculous healing and spontaneous twitching from the Holy Spirit.
“Some of the language used during the Lakeland Revival has created an almost sideshow atmosphere,” wrote J. Lee Grady, editor of the Pentecostal magazine Charisma, in an online column. “People are invited to ‘Come and get some.’ Miracles are supposedly ‘popping like popcorn.’ … Such brash statements cheapen what the Holy Spirit is doing.” Grady wrote another column this week expressing concern that the Lakeland event has the potential to cause a “charismatic civil war.”
It’s doubtful that I will be able to get out there and see for myself, and it is just about certain that I wouldn’t be able to get inside anyway, but I sure am tempted to try. Todd is rocking with something–is it the Spirit of God? Look and see what you think…
Kentucky River Revival
Revival for Kentucky meetings are scheduled for the week of May 11th, and we are ramping up on prayer and fasting to prepare. Please join us in supplication for this special event. There will be preaching and praising every night for a week in a little church alongside the Kentucky River. The signs are that God is in this and something wonderful is going to happen. Do pray with us in this regard. Hosanna!
Sons of Thunder
I have an airline ticket credit of $500 that I will lose on May 26th, if I haven’t used it by then. Searching for lyrics to a song about Israel tonight, I came across a website about an event coming up next weekend in Nashville. It’s called the Sons of Thunder conference, and it sure looks like it’s going to be a powerful gathering of praise and celebration. Unfortunately, the best Delta fare this close to departure is over $700.
According to Harvest Sound, the “Sons of Thunder” idea is based upon “a prophetic promise from heaven about a day when an army of worshiping warriors would be released into the streets with an extraordinary anointing upon them in music and evangelism. Men and women who have been hidden with the Lord and marked by the penetrating power of His presence… men and woman who have true grace and gifting in music along with humility and selflessness in sharing Christ… who are fearless in their faith and faithful to the call.”
More of the prophecy: “Say this to the church: ‘Stand in the light, lift up your voice and sing in the streets. Sing the simple message of the gospel in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord, be saved. Lift up your voice as a witness to Christ and the Spirit of God will cause people to be converted’.”
I know only what I saw on the website, so I can’t offer an opinion…other than I would love to go see what’s happening. Here’s the link to the entire Sons of Thunder vision.
Heading towards Revival
With the week-long revival meetings about a month away, the pastor leading the charge has called for prayer and fasting. Here we go. Like he told me today, “It’s just good to have a prayer partner.” Men and Women of God arise! Join us in the prayer for, and movement towards, Revival.
The bottom line…
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Revival Ministry
I have just received an email from Dr. Paul Solomon, whose ministry of revival was featured in this column in an earlier post.
Says Dr. Solomon: “Prayerful greetings in Jesus Mighty Name. It thrilled my soul to see my testimoney in your web. Glory to God! Amen. The way Jesus touched me has touched thousands of lives in India. More than 1200 sincere christians who were converted from Hinduism , now serving the plan of Revival and praying along with me.”
He went on to say something that humbled me and convicted me of my lack of effort towards global evangelism: “I have a deep hunger for Global Revival. I am so much praying for America…”
Prayer for India and for the ministry of Dr. Solomon has been added to our prayer page and will become a part of my own intercession.
Here is an excerpt from Dr. Solomon’s website:
THE MEANING FOR REVIVAL
Theo+ logic - is theology- which the world knows is knowledge about God.
Zoë’+ logic - is Zoe’logy - The LIFE, which every one should have. As a matter of fact Zoë is not logic- but it is life the very Life of God. Anazoe’ - The meaning is regaining the very life of God which is called Revival.
The Greek word Zoë’ is the breath of God. Let us read Gen. 2:7, “The Lord God formed man of the dust the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living beings.” Anazoe’- is regaining the life of God in our (Dead) lives.. “The breath of the Almighty gives him understanding (Reviving sense)” Job 32:8.
Listen carefully dear readers, without Revival a man will be like the dust of the ground with his inborn nature of carnality. When he received the breath of God, that reviving process made him a living being. Only Revival brings the breath of God into the human lives.. That’s why the Psalmist prayed this meaningful prayer in Psalm 85:6 “Will you not revival us again, that your people may rejoice in you”. Yes in Revival, there is joy, freedom, deliverance, blessing, and many more things. But without Life what you can enjoy. When Adam lost His Life- the Almighty God send it though His Son Jesus Christ. At the Cross He gave the Life(Jn.10:10)
REVIVAL STRUCTURE
God precisely shared with me many precious things during my years together walking with God by doing His Revival ministry. Those things are glorious and numerous. But I can simplify how to obtain Revival in three important things of God.
1. The glory of God,
2. The fire anointing,
3. The Holy Spirit outpouring.
But to learn these three things, God may demand our whole life. Revival is fundamentally strong and strongly rooted with the word of God.

The Shantung Revival Story
Our first revival story concerns a Southern Baptist mission to China. According to the “Grace and Truth to You” blog, missionary C.L. Culpepper says, I had opened my Bible to Romans 2:17. It seemed the Apostle Paul was speaking directly to me when he said, “But if you call yourself a Christian and rely upon the Gospel, and boast of your relation to God, and know His will, and approve what is excellent; and if you are sure you are a guide to the blind, a light to those in darkness, a correction to the foolish, a teacher of children – you then who teach others, will you not teach yourself”
Culpepper’s reaction was one of conviction and repentance, leading him to confess his “pride and spiritual impotence” at a prayer meeting the following morning. Consequently, the Holy Spirit moved to ignite revival. It is impossible to judge the actual result of this case–where one man listened, confessed, and told others.

Revival services in mid-May
Revival services are coming to the Troublesome Creek area in mid-May. The plan is for week-long activities, with a meeting every night, during the week of May 11th thru May 18th. I will have more information on location and times soon. Please pray for this endeavor to see the Holy Spirit work mightily in our region and spread to yours. The time right, the desire is right; Father, send the Rain.
May Revival Services Coming!
I “chanced” to eat lunch with a local pastor, last week, and was thrilled to find that his congregation plans to hold week-long Revival services this May. I immediately offered Hosanna’s services to help with the project, and he was happy to see that our hearts are tuned to Revival. Moreover, I spoke at a chapel service, yesterday, and afterwards he asked me to be one of the speakers at the Revival. And the topic–”Reaching Kentucky for Christ”–just what I long to do. The lesson I take from this is that God is ever before me, preparing the way, and that all I need to do is follow Him. Hosanna! Praise the Lord!
He is of Great Mercy!
God is good, there’s no way around it. He is longsuffering, compassionate, and desires the very best for us all. I am constantly amazed at how little I do and how much I get. I am a long ways from being a “prayer warrior”; I try to stay in the Word, but there are constant distractions; I need to get up earlier, to work later, to listen more and talk less. I need a kinder, gentler heart. I need to love the unlovable and minister to the unpardonable. I want to be a man of God, yet I must confess that fear, lack of faith, and selfishness hold me back constantly. I don’t deserve to be a Christian; yet I am. Thank you, Lord. You are “gracious, slow to anger, and of great mercy” (Psalm 145:8).
Paying the Preacher…
We have received numerous inquiries from evangelists, concerning our call for revival. Please note, however, that the vision here is that there are people in place who are being called by God for the work here. For that reason–and not because we are cheap or discount the value of the job–we are not offering any guarantee of pay nor expenses. All we offer is lodging and a meal or so a day. It is likely that there will be gifts given, but that is not certain.
This is a purely lay-driven project that will succeed only if it is God-ordained. If so, whoever should be here, will be here. If not, we don’t want to see it happen, anyway. Please pray with us for guidance and clarity. Anyone interested in speaking at the event should provide a written or audio sample of recent sermons preached. Appalachia is a difficult place to minister, at best. It is critical that we get the right people for the job. Our proposed venue is three nights with a topic movement of: What is Revival?, How does Revival occur?, and What are the results of Revival?
Hosanna! Revival is on the way!
We put out a call for revival, here on Troublesome Creek, and have been encouraged by the confirmation and encouragement thus far received. This began as a conversation between myself and a local man of God. We agreed to pray for revival. Not long ago, though, this thought came to me: “Okay, you’ve prayed for it, now do something about it.” I took the first little step, and that led to the next. I believe that we are going to see a movement of the Holy Spirit in Appalachia this spring. Do you? Please continue to join us in prayer and praise.
