Thank you to Grandma for recommending this video by Louie Giglio. And thank you to tsunkatsemaster for putting it up on YouTube. Hosanna!
Orphanage project
News from the front lines: Hosanna Kids have finally found what appears to be the orphanage they will support. It is not in Kentucky, though, but in South Africa! More information coming soon, as arrangements are made, but please do pray for this effort. According to Sara, who was recently on a short-term mission to the site, the kids there would be very much encouraged by knowing that the Hosanna crew is on their side.
Revival report
The week of revival services here has ended. Thank you all for your prayers. All in all, we did see a movement of God, with folks coming to Christ for the first time and others rededicating their works to the Lord. Not only that, but a new ministry is being planted to help those who are dealing with chemical addictions. God is good and He takes care of His people.
I’m still pondering the whole thing…from conception to now…and will have more to say as that all works out. I will mention, though, that I sense a component of spiritual opposition to the project that hindered us more than we realized. To do it all over again, I would concentrate less on scheduling and more on the battle.
The Word says: Without God it is utterly impossible. But with God everything is possible (Mark 10:27, TLB).
The main thing…
Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action (1 John 3:18, NRSV).
Mother’s Day Poem
In honor of mothers everywhere, here is a poem by William Ross Wallace. Blessings on the hand of women!
The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
Blessings on the hand of women!
Angels guard its strength and grace,
In the palace, cottage, hovel,
Oh, no matter where the place;
Would that never storms assailed it,
Rainbows ever gently curled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Infancy’s the tender fountain,
Power may with beauty flow,
Mother’s first to guide the streamlets,
From them souls unresting grow–
Grow on for the good or evil,
Sunshine streamed or evil hurled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Woman, how divine your mission
Here upon our natal sod!
Keep, oh, keep the young heart open
Always to the breath of God!
All true trophies of the ages
Are from mother-love impearled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Blessings on the hand of women!
Fathers, sons, and daughters cry,
And the sacred song is mingled
With the worship in the sky–
Mingles where no tempest darkens,
Rainbows evermore are hurled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.

God is with you…
The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17, NIV).
What an amazing thought this is. We usually think of it the other way around–we will rejoice in the Lord and sing unto Him–yet, God takes delight in His people.
The prior verse says, “In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not…”
Fear is certainly not lacking in Israel, or in the people of God, today. This will all change, though, when God delivers His children. He is mighty to save.
Hosanna!
Revelation
Several local men met at the little country church where the revival meetings will soon be held, (Lord willing.) Our reason for being there was to pray for revival, and so we did. I have never been disappointed that I attended a meeting where prayer was the focus, and this was no exception.
An interesting thing, though, is that I had fasted for a day to prepare for the meeting, and I was surprised at how stern my body’s rebuke was–the flesh did not want to fast. The old man wanted to eat sweets and drink soda pop. I must confess that I cannot declare, like Paul of Tarsus, that I have done battle with the flesh and have overcome it by the Spirit. That’s just not true, in my case. I have gone way too long without the discipline of fasting–it has been maybe a year since I have purposely missed a meal. Consequently, I have become weak and lazy. Ouch.
Please pray for me, that I wake up and begin again to follow hard after our Lord.
