Violet’s story…
Our own Violet Sunshine is busy writing her very first children’s story…we will run it here as soon as the ink is dry. But this spot is not just for creative writing…it is for your real-life experiences too. Especially, we would like to know how you came to Christ and how He is working in your life…

We came across a writer’s site that warned against publishing on the web. According to that site, even putting a story up on a blog is considered using the “first publication” rights…and without those rights, many magazines and such will not even consider it as a submission. Since Violet aims to see her first story published (”Highlights” Magazine, perhaps,) we have decided not to post it here. After the girl is established as an author, we will run her work frequently…
The same goes for any creative work you wish to submit. Please be forewarned that it may constitute the loss of first publication rights. There is just no way around it, other than to make a members only part of the blog for workshopping. Please let us know if you have any further insight about this topic.
Revival is coming!
From Troublesome Creek to the Kentucky River to California…folks are hearing the whisper of the Spirit: Revival is coming to the Church! 2008 promises to be a year of coming alive and breaking free…and it all starts right here, in each of us. Lord, may we be willing vessels in your service.
Teaching, preaching, and growing…
Our primary assignment, right now, is to one of the original Kentucky settlement schools. The Lord God carved out a special place for himself and his work, over 100 years ago, on this site…and the work goes on. We are teaching in the English department, helping to establish a reading development program, shoveling coal into the furnace…and anything else we are called upon to do. We love it here and know that it is right where we should be.
Once per week, we travel to a congregation about eight miles away, to work with the kids there. Also, we are working hard to establish a Hosanna Kids group, right here on Troublesome Creek. Please pray for this work.

The Word of God…sharper than a two-edged sword!
We have much to learn about this new media. Some are afraid of it, saying that it is a dangerous place to operate. Some think that it is just a fad, a place for kids to hang-out, or for adults to look at things they shouldn’t be looking at in the first place. Not too long ago, few people knew what a blog was. Us included.
One thing seems apparent, though: This site will be one more way for us to share the faith and shout the Good News! We can link to other Christian missions, schools, and clubs…to encourage and to be encouraged. We can learn, grow, share, and have a great time doing it.
